| The Güntner AG & Co. KG is specialised on the development and production of heat exchangers for the challenging refrigeration and air conditioning equipment of climate wind tunnels. With Güntner’s capacity for development provided the technological foundation to equip the climate wind tunnels of the company RTA Rail Tec Arsenal in Vienna.
The Rail Tec Arsenal test facility has two independently working test chambers as well as a preheating chamber. The larger chamber – 100 meters long and large enough to test a train with several coaches – is designed for air velocities of up to 300 km per hour.
In the smaller 31 meter long chamber, train coaches, busses or truck trailers can be tested at air velocities up to 31 km per hour. The temperature range of the two chambers goes from –50 °C to +60 °C. The Güntner heat exchanger coil GCO, that is suitable for the use in HVAC and process technology, formed the basis for the development and manufacturing of the wind tunnel heat exchangers.
