State-of-the-art power plants like the power plant in Tiefstack, Hamburg, operated by Vattenfall Europe AG, achieve a maximum output from the used primary energy. Thus, an efficiency of over 90 % can be attained whereas power plants without combined heat and power only have an average efficiency of 40 %.
But also plants with a high efficiency need additional cooling. Six Güntner drycoolers and a large switch cabinet with the latest control technology from Güntner Controls are used to cool all drives and system components. The drycoolers with axial fans have coils in V-shape that combine a space-saving set-up with a high nominal performance.
Güntner adapted the performance profile of the GFW drycoolers to the special conditions of the Tiefstack heating and power station and combined the system with state-of-the-art control technology that has been developed by Güntner Controls. For a fail-safe operation, Güntner Controls integrated an Ethernet communication interface that allows for an optimal monitoring of the drycooler installation at any time.
